Nikos Papathanasis is a Greek politician currently serving as the Alternate Minister of National Economy and Finance. Born in 1960 in Kallithea, he holds a background in mechanical engineering and business administration. Before entering politics, he held leadership roles at the Hellenic Aerospace Industry, Olympic Aviation, and the Athens–Piraeus Electric Railways. He became the general director of the New Democracy party in 2016 and has since held several ministerial positions within the cabinet of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, focusing on development, investments, and national economy.
