Nuala O'Loan, Baroness O'Loan is a British public figure and member of the House of Lords, where she sits as a crossbencher. She gained national prominence as the first Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland, serving from 1999 to 2007, a tenure marked by her robust investigations into police conduct and collusion. A qualified solicitor and former law lecturer, she has held numerous public appointments, including chairing the Daniel Morgan Independent Panel. She was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2007 and created a life peer in 2009.
