John Taylor, Baron Kilclooney is a British life peer and a prominent Northern Irish unionist politician. Born in Armagh in 1937, he has held numerous elected offices throughout his career, including serving as a Member of Parliament for Strangford from 1983 to 2001, a Member of the European Parliament, and a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly. He was the deputy leader of the Ulster Unionist Party from 1995 to 2001. Since 2001, he has sat as a crossbench life peer in the House of Lords. Throughout his long political career, he has been a significant figure in Northern Irish politics, participating in various levels of government and local administration.
