Nurten Yontar is a Turkish politician and administrator currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the Tekirdağ electoral district, representing the Republican People's Party (CHP). Born in Bulgaria in 1965, she moved to Turkey in 1977 and later graduated from Istanbul University's Faculty of Economics with a degree in finance, where she also completed her master's degree. Before entering national politics, Yontar spent 25 years working in the private insurance sector. Her political career includes serving as a member of the Süleymanpaşa Municipal Council starting in 2019 and leading the CHP's provincial women's branch in Tekirdağ. She is also a member of the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ADD) and the Turkish Red Crescent.
