Octavian Oprea is a Romanian politician serving as a Member of the Chamber of Deputies since 2024. A member of the National Liberal Party (PNL) since 2015, he previously held significant roles in public administration, including serving as president and vice president of the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in developing digital initiatives such as the Ghișeul.ro payment platform and the ROeID national digital identity project. Before entering public office, Oprea worked as a business analyst and Interface Country Lead at IBM, focusing on ERP system implementation and digital transformation. He also served as the general director of Electrocentrale Grup S.A. from 2023 to 2024.
