Omar de Jesús Restrepo

Omar de Jesús Restrepo Correa is a Colombian politician and former guerrilla fighter who currently serves as a Senator of Colombia for the 2022-2026 term. Known by his nom de guerre 'Olmedo Ruíz', he was a commander of the 57th Front of the FARC-EP and participated in the Havana peace negotiations. Following the 2016 peace agreement, he transitioned into formal politics, representing the Comunes party. He previously served as a member of the Chamber of Representatives for the department of Antioquia from 2018 to 2022.
