Osama al-Azhari

Osama al-Azhari is an Egyptian preacher, lecturer, and scholar who has served as the Minister of Religious Endowments of Egypt since 2024. Born in Alexandria in 1976 and raised in Sohag, he is a prominent figure in Islamic studies, holding a doctorate from Al-Azhar University. Before his ministerial appointment, he served as a religious advisor to the President of Egypt and taught Hadith, logic, and theology at Al-Azhar. He is known for advocating a renewal of traditional Islamic scholarship and promoting moderate, scholarly approaches to religious discourse.
