First elected in 2015 and subsequently re-elected, she has held several cabinet positions, including Minister Responsible for Women and Gender Equality, and as of 2025, serves as the Minister of Rural Economic Development, Minister of Labour, and Minister Responsible for Workplace. Before entering politics, Parsons worked as a journalist for CBC and NTV News. She is also a musician who frequently performs at charitable events.
