Paulette Hamilton is a British Labour politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Birmingham Erdington since 2022, becoming the first black MP to represent a constituency in Birmingham. Before entering national politics, she spent 25 years as a nurse in the NHS and served as a Birmingham City Councillor from 2004 to 2022, where she held the Cabinet portfolio for Health and Social Care. Since May 2025, she has served as the Interim Chair of the Health and Social Care Select Committee. Her political career has focused on healthcare advocacy and local community representation.
