Angela Eagle is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Wallasey since 1992. Throughout her extensive parliamentary career, she has held various ministerial and shadow cabinet roles, including Minister of State for Pensions and Ageing Society and Shadow Leader of the House of Commons. A graduate of St John's College, Oxford, Eagle previously worked for the Confederation of British Industry and the trade union COHSE. She is a prominent figure in the Labour Party and was the second openly lesbian MP in the United Kingdom. In 2025, she was appointed Minister of State for Food Security and Rural Affairs.
