Pema Chewang

Profile

Pema Chewang is a Bhutanese politician and the founder and president of the Bhutan Tendrel Party. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career as a civil servant, serving as the Chief Planning Officer in the Gross National Happiness Commission and later as the Secretary of the National Land Commission from 2014 to 2022. In 2020, he was awarded the title of Dasho by King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. He founded the Bhutan Tendrel Party in 2022 and was subsequently elected to the National Assembly of Bhutan in 2024, representing the Kanglung-Samkhar-Udzorong constituency.
