Tshering Tobgay is a Bhutanese politician currently serving as the Prime Minister of Bhutan, a position he assumed in 2024. He previously served as Prime Minister from 2013 to 2018 and as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly from 2008 to 2013. A co-founder of the People's Democratic Party, Tobgay has focused his political career on economic development, education reform, and addressing issues such as youth unemployment and national debt. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career as a civil servant, leading the National Technical Training Authority and serving in the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources.
