Lungten Dorji

Lungten Dorji is a Bhutanese politician currently serving as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan, a position he has held since January 2024. Born on November 11, 1964, in the Zhemgang District, he pursued higher education at Sherubtse College and later earned a master's degree in public administration from the International Institute of Public Administration in Paris. Before his current tenure, Dorji had a distinguished career in the civil service, serving as the dzongdag of Trashigang and Trongsa, and as the Director General of the Department of Local Governance. He was first elected to the National Assembly in 2006 and returned to the legislature following his victory in the 2023–24 election representing the Panbang constituency.
