Peng Chi-ming is a Taiwanese meteorologist and politician currently serving as the Minister of Environment. Before entering government in 2024, he founded WeatherRisk Explore, Taiwan's first private weather service company, and became a prominent advocate for weather insurance and climate change mitigation. A vegetarian who emphasizes sustainable living, he has participated in numerous United Nations Climate Change Conferences as an observer. As Minister, he is focused on advancing Taiwan's climate governance, including the implementation of a carbon pricing system and the development of green energy funds to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
