Peter Bowness, Baron Bowness

Peter Bowness, Baron Bowness is a British politician, solicitor, and life peer who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 1996. A former leader of Croydon Council, he was a prominent Conservative figure during the 1980s before transitioning to national politics. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has held significant roles, including chairing sub-committees of the European Union Select Committee and serving as President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. Originally sitting as a Conservative, he became a non-affiliated peer in 2020 and a crossbencher in 2021.
