Richard Dannatt, Baron Dannatt, is a retired senior British Army officer and a member of the House of Lords. He served as the Chief of the General Staff, the professional head of the British Army, from 2006 to 2009. Throughout his distinguished military career, he held numerous high-level commands, including Commander-in-Chief, Land Command, and Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps. Known for his outspoken advocacy regarding soldier welfare and military strategy, he has remained active in public life and charitable work since his retirement from active service.
