Peter Hain is a British politician and life peer who currently serves as a Member of the House of Lords. Born in Kenya to South African parents, he became a prominent anti-apartheid activist in the 1970s before entering Parliament in 1991 as the MP for Neath. During his career in the House of Commons, he held several high-profile cabinet positions, including Secretary of State for Wales, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
