Craig Mackinlay is a British Conservative Party politician and life peer who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 2024. Previously, he was the Member of Parliament for South Thanet from 2015 to 2024. A former deputy leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) before joining the Conservatives in 2005, Mackinlay is known for his advocacy on issues such as Brexit and his skepticism regarding net-zero climate policies. In 2023, he survived a severe case of sepsis that resulted in a quadruple amputation, after which he became a prominent campaigner for sepsis awareness and improved prosthetic care for amputees. Since 2025, he has served as the Director of the Global Warming Policy Foundation.
