Peter J. Durant is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Massachusetts Senate, representing the Worcester and Hampshire district. Prior to his election to the Senate in 2023, he served as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the 6th Worcester district, a seat he won following a closely contested special election in 2011. Before his tenure in the state legislature, Durant served on the Spencer Board of Selectmen. In the Senate, he holds several ranking minority positions on committees including Juvenile and Emerging Adult Justice and Cannabis Policy.
