Peter Hultqvist

Peter Hultqvist is a Swedish politician who has served as a member of the Riksdag since 2006. He previously held the position of Minister for Defence from 2014 to 2022, during which he oversaw the reintroduction of conscription and strengthened Sweden's military cooperation with NATO and Finland. Known for his focus on national security and a firm stance against Russian aggression, his policy approach is often referred to as the 'Hultqvist Doctrine.' He currently serves as the Chairman of the Defence Committee in the Riksdag.
