Peter Kleine

Peter Kleine is a German jurist and politician who has served as the Lord Mayor of Weimar since 2018. Born in Sömmerda, he studied law at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena before working as a consultant in the Thuringian state administration. Prior to his election as mayor, he served as the city's deputy mayor starting in 2013. Kleine ran as an independent candidate with the support of the CDU and the local citizens' alliance, winning his first term in 2018 and securing re-election in 2024.
