Phani Bhusan Choudhury

Phani Bhusan Choudhury is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, representing the Barpeta constituency. A prominent leader of the Asom Gana Parishad, he previously held a record-breaking tenure as a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly, where he represented the Bongaigaon constituency for eight consecutive terms starting in 1985. During his extensive career in state politics, he served as the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs from 2018 to 2021 and acted as the Pro-tem Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly in 2021.
