Pieter van Maaren

Pieter van Maaren is a Dutch politician and administrator who has served as the acting mayor of Koggenland since April 2025. A member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), he previously held mayoral positions in Zaltbommel and Urk. Before his career in municipal leadership, he worked in various administrative and policy roles, including as a municipal secretary and as a staff official for the province of Utrecht. Van Maaren also served as a municipal councilor in De Bilt, where he led the local CDA faction. He resigned from his post in Zaltbommel in 2024 following a controversy regarding unauthorized renovations to his historic residence.
