Priya Rajan

Priya Rajan is an Indian politician serving as the 49th Mayor of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Elected on March 4, 2022, following the local elections, she holds the distinction of being the youngest person and the third woman to serve in this office, as well as the first Dalit woman to hold the position. A member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), she previously served as a councilor for the 74th ward in Thiru. Vi. Ka Nagar. She is the granddaughter of former MLA Chengai Sivam and holds a post-graduate degree in Commerce.
