Ralph Alexander Lorz is a German politician and legal scholar currently serving as the Minister of Finance of Hesse. A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he previously held the position of Hessian Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs from 2014 to 2024. Before his full-time political career, Lorz was a professor of public law at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. He has been a member of the Hessian State Parliament since 2018, representing the Wiesbaden II constituency, and was elected to the CDU federal board in 2024.
