Raj Chouhan is an Indian-born Canadian politician and trade unionist who has served as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia since 2020. First elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in 2005 for Burnaby-Edmonds, he currently represents the district of Burnaby-New Westminster. A long-time advocate for human rights and racial equality, Chouhan previously served as the founding president of the Canadian Farmworkers Union and held various leadership roles within the labour movement. His political career has focused on labour relations, human rights, and immigration policy.
