Rakibul Hussain

Rakibul Hussain is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Dhubri constituency, having been elected in 2024 with one of the largest margins in Indian electoral history. Prior to his national role, he served as a five-term Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Samaguri constituency in Assam from 2001 to 2024. During his tenure in the Assam state government, he held several cabinet positions under Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, including portfolios in Forest and Environment, Tourism, and Home Affairs. He also served as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly from 2021 to 2024.
