Ramanathan Archchuna

Ramanathan Archchuna is a Sri Lankan Tamil politician and physician who serves as a Member of Parliament for the Jaffna Electoral District. Before entering politics, he worked as a medical superintendent at the Chavakachcheri Base Hospital, where he gained public attention in 2024 for exposing administrative irregularities. Since his election as an independent candidate in the 2024 parliamentary election, his tenure has been marked by controversy, including legal issues regarding his conduct at medical facilities and disruptive behavior in the parliamentary chamber. He has also drawn criticism for his public statements regarding LGBT policy and his views on homosexuality.
