Sunil Watagala

Sunil Watagala is a Sri Lankan politician and attorney who currently serves as a Member of Parliament representing the Colombo Electoral District. Elected in 2024 as a candidate for the National People's Power, he also holds the position of Deputy Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs. A qualified Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, Watagala has a long history of legal advocacy, particularly in fundamental rights cases. Throughout his career, he has been a dedicated proponent of social equity, human rights, and legal empowerment, having previously served in the Colombo Municipal Council and the Western Provincial Council.
