Rechie Valdez is a Canadian politician serving as the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism. Elected as the Member of Parliament for Mississauga—Streetsville in 2021, she made history as the first Filipino Canadian woman to serve as a Cabinet minister and MP. Before entering politics, she spent 15 years in corporate banking and worked as a business owner and television producer. Throughout her parliamentary career, she has focused on small business support, economic security for women and LGBTQ communities, and federal procurement policies.
