She represents the electoral district of Papineau in the House of Commons, having succeeded former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. With a background in social and organizational psychology, Michel previously held significant roles in the federal government, including Chief of Staff to the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Deputy Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister's Office. She is the daughter of former Haitian Prime Minister Smarck Michel and is married to former MP Emmanuel Dubourg.
