René Paas

René Paas is a Dutch politician currently serving as the King's Commissioner in the province of Groningen, a position he has held since April 2016. A member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), he previously served on the Groningen municipal council and as an alderman. Before his current appointment, he held leadership roles in the labor sector, including serving as chairman of the Christelijk Nationaal Vakverbond and as chairman of the social domain association Divosa. He studied Dutch law and public administration at the University of Groningen.
