René Zok is a German local politician currently serving as the Mayor of Staßfurt. He previously held the office of Mayor from 2008 to 2015 as an independent candidate. Following his initial term, he worked in the transport service sector for Lebenshilfe Bördeland gGmbH. In 2022, having joined the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he successfully ran for office again and was elected as the Mayor of Staßfurt, defeating the incumbent Sven Wagner in a runoff election.
