Rey Garofano

Rey Garofano is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing the Chittenden-8-1 district. Born in Iran, she relocated to Los Angeles in the 1980s during the Iran–Iraq War before eventually settling in Vermont. Garofano holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Champlain College. Prior to her political career, she owned a Persian restaurant and worked as a consultant for the Creative Discourse Group. Since 2007, she has been employed by the Vermont Department for Children and Families. She was appointed to the state legislature by Governor Phil Scott in January 2022 to fill a vacant seat.
