Richard Best, Baron Best

Richard Best, Baron Best, is a British peer and independent crossbench member of the House of Lords. Born in 1945, he has dedicated much of his career to housing policy, having led the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the National Federation of Housing Associations. Since his appointment as a life peer in 2001, he has served on numerous parliamentary committees, including the Industry and Regulators Committee, and has chaired various commissions focused on affordable housing and urban development. He is a recognized expert in the field and continues to advocate for housing and care solutions for older people.
