Riho Terras is an Estonian politician and retired general who has served as a Member of the European Parliament since 2020. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished military career, serving as the Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces from 2011 to 2018 and reaching the rank of general in 2017. Educated in history and political science at institutions including the University of Tartu and the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, he has held various high-level defense roles, including Permanent Secretary of the Estonian Ministry of Defence. He is a member of the Isamaa party and continues to focus on security and defense policy within the European Union.
