Robert Golob
Profile
Robert Golob is a Slovenian politician, engineer, and businessman who served as Prime Minister of Slovenia from 2022 to 2026. After the March 2026 parliamentary election, in which his Freedom Movement narrowly won the most seats, Golob failed to form a governing coalition and the party moved into opposition, with Janez Jansa returning as Prime Minister. Golob remains a member of the National Assembly and leader of the Freedom Movement. Earlier in his career he chaired the state-controlled energy trading company GEN-I. Internationally, he has taken a critical stance on military operations in the Gaza Strip and advocated for recognition of the Palestinian state.
