Robert Xowie

Robert Wienie Xowie is a French politician from New Caledonia who has served as a Senator representing New Caledonia since 2023. A member of the Kanak and Socialist National Liberation Front (FLNKS) and the Caledonian Union, he previously held significant local offices, including serving as the Mayor of Lifou from 1995 to 2001 and again from 2014 to 2023. He also served as the President of the Loyalty Islands Province from 1999 to 2004. An educator by training, Xowie has been a prominent figure in the pro-independence movement in New Caledonia for several decades.
