Roberto Di Stefano was an Italian engineer, architectural historian, and professor emeritus at the University of Naples Federico II. A prominent expert in the theory and practice of monument restoration, he served as the president of ICOMOS International from 1987 to 1990 and was a founding member of the organization. Throughout his career, he led numerous international restoration projects, including work on the Parthenon and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and authored extensive research on architectural history and conservation policy.
