Rocío Nahle García is a Mexican politician and chemical engineer who currently serves as the Governor of Veracruz, having assumed office on December 1, 2024, as the first woman to hold the position. Previously, she served as the Secretary of Energy in the cabinet of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador from 2018 to 2023. Her political career includes serving as a federal deputy for the 11th district of Veracruz and as a Senator. She holds degrees in chemical engineering and petrochemistry.
