Ryota Takeda is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Throughout his career, he has held several high-level government positions, including Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Chairman of the National Public Safety Commission, and Minister of State for Disaster Management. A graduate of Waseda University, Takeda began his political career as a secretary before being elected to the Diet. He is known for his conservative policy stances, including opposition to selective separate surnames for married couples and same-sex marriage. After losing his seat in the 2024 general election following a political funding scandal, he was re-elected in 2026 and subsequently established the Comprehensive Security Research Group.
