Ryszard Terlecki is a Polish politician, historian, and academic professor who has served as a member of the Sejm since 2007. A prominent figure in the Law and Justice (PiS) party, he previously held the positions of Deputy Marshal of the Sejm and chairman of the PiS parliamentary club. Before his full-time political career, he was a distinguished academic at the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków, specializing in the history of the communist era in Poland. He was also active in the anti-communist opposition movement during the 1970s and 1980s, including his involvement with the Solidarity trade union.
