桑名龍吾

Ryugo Kuwana is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kochi. Born in Kochi City in 1962, he graduated from Kokugakuin University. Before entering politics, he worked for the JA Kochi Economic Federation. He served as a secretary to lawmaker Gen Nakatani and later as a ministerial secretary during Nakatani's tenure as Director General of the Defense Agency. Kuwana was elected to the Kochi Prefectural Assembly four consecutive times starting in 2007, where he served as assembly chair in 2019. He was elected mayor in 2023.
