佐藤弥斗

Mito Sato is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Zama City in Kanagawa Prefecture. Born in Meguro, Tokyo, she became involved in local activism in the late 1990s, notably leading a successful grassroots campaign to block a power plant construction project in Zama. She served as a member of the Zama City Council for four terms before being elected mayor in 2020, becoming the city's first female mayor. Her administration has focused on local economic revitalization and COVID-19 response measures, including initiatives to reduce executive salaries to fund public health efforts.
