Sónia Monteiro

Sónia Monteiro is a Portuguese politician and journalist currently serving as a member of the Assembly of the Republic. Born in Felgueiras in 1980, she was first elected to parliament in 2024 representing the right-wing CHEGA party for the Porto constituency and was re-elected in 2025. During her parliamentary tenure, she has served on the Committee on Culture, Communication, Youth and Sport and the Ad hoc Committee for Verifying the Powers of Elected Deputies. Her political platform has notably emphasized addressing the outmigration of youth from rural areas.
