Profile
Diana Șoșoacă is a Romanian politician and the leader of the far-right S.O.S. Romania party. She first gained national prominence as a senator elected on the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) list before joining and leading S.O.S. Romania. Known for her hard Eurosceptic, nationalist, and populist rhetoric, she has frequently advocated for Romania's withdrawal from the European Union and NATO. Her political career has been marked by controversy, including pro-Russian posturing, irredentist claims over Ukrainian territories, and the use of antisemitic language, which led to her disqualification from presidential races by the Constitutional Court. She currently serves as a Member of the European Parliament, where she continues to maintain a confrontational stance against EU institutions.
