Sırrı Sakık

Sırrı Sakık is a Turkish-Kurdish politician and journalist currently serving as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Throughout his long political career, he has been a founding member of several parties, including the Democracy Party (DEP) and the Democratic Society Party (DTP), and previously served as the Mayor of Ağrı. Known for his advocacy for Kurdish political participation and women's rights, Sakık has faced significant legal challenges and imprisonment throughout his career due to his political activities. He was re-elected to parliament in the 2023 Turkish parliamentary election.
