Safak Akcay

Şafak Akçay is an Austrian politician and member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). Born in Vienna in 1974, she has served as a member of the Vienna Landtag and the Vienna Municipal Council since 2013. Before her parliamentary career, she worked as an accountant and payroll clerk. Akçay began her political involvement in 1996 in the Leopoldstadt district, focusing on integration, culture, women's rights, and social issues. She previously served as a district councilor in Leopoldstadt starting in 2001.
