Takeshi Saiki is a Japanese politician and former NHK announcer currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Kofu, Yamanashi, he graduated from the University of Tokyo and worked as a journalist and news anchor before entering politics. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with several parties, including the Democratic Party, the Party of Hope, the Constitutional Democratic Party, and the Japan Innovation Party, before joining the Liberal Democratic Party in 2025. Known for his focus on economic, energy, and parliamentary reform issues, he has been a vocal critic of data manipulation in the nuclear power industry and has scrutinized government spending related to the Tokyo Olympics. He currently represents the Fukui 2nd District.
