Hiroaki Saito is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives for the Liberal Democratic Party. Born in 1976 in Niigata Prefecture, he graduated from Gakushuin University and Kobe University before working as a bureaucrat for the Japan Fair Trade Commission. First elected to the Diet in 2012, he has held various government positions, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications and Chair of the House of Representatives Committee on Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Politically, he is known for his conservative stances, supporting constitutional revision and the maintenance of current defense policies, while opposing selective separate surnames for married couples.
